What is an X-Ray Device? What is the Difference Between an X-Ray Bag and Package Scanning Device and a Walk Through Metal Detector?

Today, x-ray devices are used in many areas from airports to shopping malls. These devices allow checking the contents of baggage and packages to prevent possible attacks. The devices can be placed at the entrance of the facility that requires security. X-ray screening systems allow the inside of baggage and packages to be inspected without having to open and physically inspect the baggage or package.

What is the Difference Between an X-Ray Bag and Package Scanning Device and a Walk Through Metal Detector?

In many cases, the x-ray baggage and parcel inspection device is confused with the door-type metal detector. However, the purposes and operating principles of these two devices are different.

Walk Through Metal Detector; it is used to detect whether metal objects are on people. It is especially useful for detecting whether dangerous objects, such as weapons or knives, are hidden on or in a person.
X-Ray Security Devices; reflect the contents of bags or packages on the screen using x-ray beams to see inside. Different objects are displayed in different colors according to the different atomic weights on the screen of the device. The image formed by the atomic weights is used to understand whether the object or matter is dangerous.
In order to use the device, the person who will use the device must complete operator training. Otherwise, it may not be possible to identify which objects are dangerous. In places where inspection is required such as public facilities, airports, police, prisons, courthouses, logistics companies, etc., x-ray devices can be used to control incoming baggage, mail and parcels.
